Day-Wise Journey Plan

DAY 01
Arrival in Kathmandu (4,590 ft.)

DAY 02
Pashupatinath Temple Visit & Drive to Ramechhap (1,950 ft.)

Begin the day with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Offer prayers and experience the peaceful spiritual atmosphere along the holy Bagmati River.

Later, drive to Ramechhap (Manthali Airport) in a private vehicle. The journey takes approximately 4–5 hours, passing through scenic countryside, terraced farmlands, and traditional Nepalese villages.

On arrival, check in at a local guesthouse near the airport. Rest and prepare for the early morning Lukla flight the next day.

DAY 03
Fly to Lukla (9,320 ft.) & Trek to Phakding (8,560 ft.)

Early morning, take a scenic 20-minute mountain flight from Ramechhap to Lukla, offering breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayan landscape.

On arrival at Lukla, begin your trek towards Phakding. The trail gently descends through pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages, crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River.

DAY 04
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (11,285 ft.)

The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge. Enter Sagarmatha National Park, where permits are checked, before beginning the final steep ascent to Namche Bazaar. On a clear day, enjoy your first glimpses of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse.

DAY 05
Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

A day dedicated to acclimatization. Take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku. Later, explore the Sherpa Culture Museum and stroll around the lively Namche Market, the main trading hub of the Khumbu region.

DAY 06
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Deboche (12,535 ft.) via Tengboche

The trail offers a scenic mix of ascents and descents with spectacular views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual centre of the Everest region. After exploring the monastery, descend through beautiful rhododendron forests to Deboche.

DAY 07
Trek from Deboche to Dingboche (14,470 ft.)

Cross the Imja Khola River and ascend through Pangboche village, one of the highest permanent settlements in the region. The landscape gradually changes as forests give way to alpine terrain. On arrival, explore Dingboche’s stone-walled fields, built to protect crops from cold winds and grazing animals.

DAY 08
Acclimatization Day at Dingboche

Morning acclimatization hike to Nagarjun / Nangkartshang Hill (16,730 ft.), offering stunning panoramic views of Makalu, Lhotse, Cholatse, Tawache, and Ama Dablam.

Return to Dingboche for lunch. Afternoon free for rest, hydration, or short village walks.

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (16,110 ft.)

Gradual ascent to Dughla (Thukla), followed by a steep climb to Thukla Pass, where memorials honour climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Continue trekking along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche.

DAY 10
Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (16,865 ft.) & Everest Base Camp (17,598 ft.)
& Back to Goarkshep

Begin with a gradual ascent to Gorak Shep, the final settlement before Everest Base Camp. After a short rest and lunch, continue towards Everest Base Camp, trekking alongside the Khumbu Glacier and navigating glacial moraines.

On reaching Base Camp, experience the iconic atmosphere of the world’s highest expedition site before returning to Gorak Shep for the night.

• Altitude: ⇑ 1,490 ft. / ⇓ 730 ft.
• Overnight Stay: Tea-House in Gorakshep

DAY 11
Climb Kala Patthar (18,190 ft.) & Descend to Pheriche (13,910 ft.)

Early morning ascent to Kala Patthar, the most famous viewpoint of the trek, offering stunning sunrise views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

After descending back to Gorak Shep for breakfast, continue the descent through Lobuche and along the Khumbu Glacier to reach Pheriche.

DAY 12
Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (11,285 ft.)

Descend through the Imja Khola Valley, passing Pangboche and Tengboche. Option to revisit the famous Tengboche Monastery before continuing through rhododendron and juniper forests.

Cross the Dudh Koshi River and make the final climb back to Namche Bazaar.

The final day on the trail. Descend through pine forests, crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, and pass villages like Monjo and Phakding. The last stretch involves a gentle ascent back to Lukla, where the Everest Base Camp trek comes to an end.

DAY 15
Leisure Day in Kathmandu
