Indian Arrowroot (चवर) at Raireshwar Plateau

Indian Arrowroot (चवर) species of flowers are very popular on the main plateau. Indian Arrowroot is an annual herb growing upto 50-100 cm high. The plant has perennial rhizomes with many hanging tubers. Oblong lancelike leaves are upto half a meter long. Flowers occur in a spike 10-15 cm long, and are yellow or white. More prominent are the greenish white or pinkish white bracts.

देवघाट ते लिंग्याघाट

दसऱ्याच्या आधीच्या रात्री वृषभचा फोन आला आणि म्हणाला, “उद्या धामणओहोळ गावापासून एक घाटवाट आहे आपण ती करूयात म्हणून”. तसं पाहायला गेल तर माझ्या माहितीप्रमाणे त्या गावाच्या चारही बाजूला कमीत कमी दहाहुन अधिक घाटवाटा आहेत ज्या कि खाली कोकणात आणि वरती पुण्याला येण्याजाण्यासाठी वापरतात. त्यापेकी दोन घाटवाटा म्हणजेच “देवघाट आणि निसनीची वाट” करायचं ठरवलं. अलिकडच्या काळामध्ये अनेक वाटा वापरण्यात येत नसल्यामुळे अदृश्य झाल्या आहेत.
